Betty L Hill, while surrounded by her family at Cayuga Ridge Nursing Home, on June 21, 2011 went to be with our Lord.

Betty attended Interlaken Central School where she was a majorette with the band and a cheer leader for the basketball team. In 1977 she returned to school at TC-3, where she received her Associates Degree in Human Services. Betty was actively involved in improvements for low income youth in Ithaca, NY for several years. She worked with Bob Johnston in the Probations Department Diversion Program of Tompkins County. Betty moved to Florida in 1978, and became employed by Walt Disney World where she was Steward for NFL-CIO – active in people’s rights. She retired from Disney in 1989, returning to Ithaca and then to Juniper Manor in Trumansburg.

Betty is survived by her children, Sandra Voorheis, William Hill, Michael (Judy) Hill, Pamela Davis, Lori (Charles) Bradley, David Hill, and Amy (Frank) Swaney; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Robert (Doris) Hemenway. She was predeceased by her parents; her daughter, Carol Holden; and the father’s of her children, Douglas Hill and Elwood (Bus) Mather.

Friends and family may attend her funeral service on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 11:00am at Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Trumansburg.
