Donald F. “Shorty” Holford, of Interlaken, passed away at Cayuga Medical Center on Friday, May 13, 2011 at the age of 79.

Born on April 8, 1932 in the Town of Ulysses, Shorty was the son of the late Alfred and Martha (Slack) Holford. He worked as a laborer for several different food distribution companies in the area. Shorty enjoyed spending his time fishing and watching classic old westerns.

In addition to his parents, Shorty was preceded in death by his wife, Selma Holford. He is survived by three sons, Donald F. Holford, Jr. of Interlaken, Alfred S. (Darlena) Holford of Interlaken, and Thomas Holford of Seneca Falls; a daughter, Sheila Covert of Florida; a brother, Kenneth Holford of Interlaken; 18 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

The family will be present to receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00pm on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Trumansburg. A Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 at the funeral home will the Rev. John Kotun officiating.
