Frances P. Hull, an
Ithaca
resident since 1936, passed away at
Beechtree
Care
Center on Sunday, April
10, 2011 at the age of 97.
Born in
Margaretville,
New York on September 3, 1913, Frances was the
daughter of Cecil and Edna (Hill) Polley. For many years she was employed as a
bookkeeper with
Rocco
Longo, CPA in Ithaca.
As a young lady
Frances was active in the First Presbyterian Church, Ithaca PTA, and Cub Scouts.
She created many treasures with her crewel embroidery
and crocheting talents. Working on
crossword and jigsaw puzzles and reading were favorite pastimes but nothing
brought her more pleasure than spending time with family.
In addition to her parents, Frances was
preceded in death by her husband, John C. Hull in 1987 and a brother, Chan
Polley in 1991. She is survived by one son, John C. (Maureen) Hull, Jr of
Livingston, MT; two daughters, Kathryn (Fred) Hoffman of Arab, AL and Carolyn
Whetstone of Interlaken; one brother, Ernest (Doris) Polley of Silver Springs,
MD; five grandchildren, Michael and Christine Hallam, Scott (Mariola) Burns,
Tiffany Hull, and John C Hull, III; two great-grandchildren, William and Kevin
Burns; many nieces and nephews and a close friend, Connie Wilcox.
The family will be present to receive friends from 10:30 –
11:00 am on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home,
23 South St, Trumansburg. Services will begin at
11:00 am on Saturday, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dr. John Kotun
officiating. Prayers of Committal will follow at the
Willow Glen Cemetery
in Dryden.
