Leonard
A. “Leo” Soule of 6229 Mecklenburg Rd, Mecklenburg, passed away unexpectedly at
Cayuga Medical Center on Monday, May 16, 2011 at the age of 55.
Born on October 6, 1955 in Ithaca,
Leonard was the son of the late Allen and Eleanor Leonard Soule. As a lifelong
resident of Mecklenburg, Leonard developed many lasting friendships through his
school years in Trumansburg and while attending the electrical program at BOCES.
Further friendships were made through his
membership in the Loyal Order of Moose, and during his career of 38 years with
the City of Ithaca. Memorable times for Leonard were polishing and riding his
Harley, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, and watching NASCAR racing with the guys
in Coyle’s garage.
Leonard
is survived by his wife Jean Hile Soule of Mecklenburg; two daughters, Heather
and Crystal Soule of Mecklenburg; two sisters, Regina (Steve) Corey of
Trumansburg and Joyce (Chris) Snyder of Garner, NC; father and mother-in-law,
Albert and Dorothy Hile of Newfield; brother-in-law, Albert (Christina) Hile Jr
of Bell Buckle, TN; a nephew who was like a brother to Leonard, Randall “Scott”
(Shelly) Percey, two nephews, Howard “Skip” Percey and John Albert Hile; three
nieces, Robin (Tim) Ciaschi,
Deanna Shrewsbury, and Olivia Hile; many cousins,
aunts, uncles, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
The family will be present to receive friends on Friday, May
20, 2011 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at the Eagles Club on Cecil B. Malone Drive in
Ithaca (behind Wegmans). In keeping with Leonard’s wishes, this is to be a time
of celebrating the joyful events in his life. Please bring a story or memory to
share with one another.
