Robin Louise Shoemaker passed away Friday, July 3, 2009 at Cayuga Medical Center.

Born on December 19, 1961, Robin was the daughter of the late Robert and Doris (Bell) Shoemaker. A lifelong resident of Trumansburg, Robin was a graduate of Trumansburg High School and Tompkins Cortland Community College. She worked for over 25 years in the Cornell University library system.

Robin was loving and giving and liked to laugh. She enjoyed spending time with family and was researching family genealogy. She was devoted to her canine companions.

Robin is survived by her sisters, Kathy Carman of Enfield and Marsha (Leonard) Freelove of Newfield; her nephew, Mark; her nieces Megan, Michelle, and Karen; her aunts Marguerite (Sally) Rounds of Ithaca and Elizabeth Poyer Sayre of Newfield. Robin is also survived by several cousins, many friends, and her beloved Boston Terriers, Gracie and Stitch. In addition to her parents, Robin was preceded in death by her uncle, Gerald Shoemaker; her aunt Anna Nichols; and her two brothers, David Shoemaker and Kenneth Shoemaker.

Calling hours are from 6-8:00pm on Wednesday, July 8, at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Trumansburg. Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00pm on Thursday, July 9 at Grove Cemetery, Trumansburg.
