Clayton “Butch” Young of 4391 South Street Ext., Trumansburg, passed away at home on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at the age of 61.

Born in Buffalo, New York on February 1, 1948, Clayton was the son of the late Clayton W. and Delores Clayback Young Sr.

Clayton cherished time with his family and his black lab Max. On Friday nights he could be found gathered at the Falls Tavern sharing food and stories with the family. He was very proud of his daughters Kristin, Bonnie, and Brooke. Clayton loved being a grandfather and playing with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing and watching the New York Yankees.

Clayton is survived by his wife of 30 years, Dawn Skidmore Young; daughters, Kristin Young (Alan Richards) of Ithaca, Bonnie Young (Joel Woodring) of Trumansburg, and Brooke Young (Dusty VanDerzee) of Trumansburg; grandchildren, Alana Young and Jeremy Woodring; sister, Karen Love of West Seneca; and extended family.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated by Fr. John Tokaz, OFM Cap at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at St. James the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 17 Whig St, Trumansburg.

Additionally, a Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 22, 2009 at 9:00 am at Fourteen Holy Helpers Catholic Church, 1345 Indian Church Rd., West Seneca, NY.
