Marjorie A. ProctorMarjorie A. Proctor,  59,  of  Ithaca passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 28, 2014.  Born in Springfield, Massachusetts on July 15, 1954, Marjie was a daughter of the late Charles B. Proctor 3rd and the late Phyllis (Perry) Proctor.

Marjie was a gifted song writer, singer and guitar player. Mensa eligible, Marjorie graduated from Cornell University and embarked on a career in strategic development at Cornell University, Challenge Industries and Strategic Forecasting.  In her later years, she focused on supporting the career of her partner Phyllis Radke, and pursued her Masters in Social Work at Smith College in preparation for achieving her lifetime goal of being a licensed psychotherapist.

Marjie dedicated her life to helping others resolve life problems.  Her insight, intelligence, concern and compassion embodied the bountiful love she bestowed on her friends and family.  Marjie’s gentle and thoughtful caring cannot be captured between these lines.  Her kind and intuitive compassion healed wounds;  she carried the bright light of unconditional love.

Marjie is survived by her partner Phyllis Radke, sister Kathryn Proctor Baker, and her children Max Farhi and Justan E. Baker, father of  Cody A. Baker and Morgan R. Baker. Also survived by brother Charles B. (Colette LaBarre) Proctor 4th and their children Charles (Antigone  Montero)  B. Proctor 5th,  parents of Charles B. Proctor 6th,  Christopher C. Proctor, and Colby D. (Amber Phelps) Proctor (deceased), parents of Jay A. Gomez and Arianna I. Massey, other family members, and friends.

Marjie’s family will be present to receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00pm on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at St. James Catholic Church, 17 Whig Street, Trumansburg. A Mass will immediately follow at 2:00pm at the church.
