Suzanne S. Sager of Trumansburg passed away at Cayuga Medical Center on Monday, June 23, 2014 at the age of 79.

Sue was born in Utica on April 18, 1935, a daughter of the late Ward and Florence (Beckwith) Smith. She worked for Cornell University’s Cooperative Extension in Montour Falls for 10 years before taking a position at Cornell in the Registrar’s Office, from which she retired after many years. Sue returned to Cornell to work a few temporary positions, ending in the English Department where she worked from 1994 until ultimately retiring in 1998. Following her retirement, Sue continued to volunteer at various events at Cornell.

Sue was active in the Trumansburg community as a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Trumansburg Senior Citizens, Board Member of Trumansburg Seniors Inc., Jacksonville Methodist Church, and the American Legion Auxiliary. For many years, she volunteered regularly at the Trumansburg Food Pantry and Gemm Shop.

Sue is survived by her four children, Susan (James) Cole, Donna (David Parker) Sager, Janet (Michael McWhorter) Sager, and James (Cathie) Sager; six grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Dilmore Ludwick; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at the Jacksonville Methodist Church with Rev. Nelson Reppert officiating.
