Geraldine F. Emmons

Geraldine Frances Emmons of Trumansburg, formerly of Potsdam, NY, passed away at home surrounded by family on Monday, December 30, 2013 at the age of 91.

Geraldine was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma on August 27, 1922 a daughter of the late Everett and Alice (Buzzard) Schutten. Geraldine, known to all as Gerry, resided in Potsdam, NY where she worked as an administrative assistant at Clarkson University for over twenty years. She was an active member of several organizations in Potsdam including the Daughter’s of the American Revolution, the Clarkson Guild, the Garden Club, St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was a volunteer at the Canton Potsdam Hospital. Gerry relocated to Trumansburg in 2004 to be close to family.

Geraldine is survived by two children - Sue Ann Eichen of Hampstead, NH and Donald (Lori) Emmons of Trumansburg; five grandchildren - Suzanne (Jeff) Dennis, Kelly (Eric) Pampel, Lawrence (Mikela) Eichen, Kirk Emmons, and Danielle Emmons; seven great grandchildren; and two nieces and two nephews. In addition to her parents, sisters and son-in-law, Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband, Donald in 1964.

A graveside service will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Potsdam, NY in the spring.
