Harry J. "Fergie" Ferguson

Harry J. “Fergie” Ferguson of Trumansburg passed away at home on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at the age of 67.

Harry was born on July 28, 1954 in Ithaca a son of the late Harry Byron and Violet (Cahill) Ferguson. He worked as a groundskeeper and landscaper at Ithaca College for 36 years prior to retiring in 2009. An avid outdoorsman, Harry spent many hours tending to his greenhouse and was a master gardener. He was a member of Car Pride and loved working on his old cars with his son and brothers.

Harry is survived by his children, son Harry Ferguson Jr.; daughter Vicki (Raymond) Whittaker; five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Emmalee, William, Violet, and Aurora;  siblings Kathleen Discoll, Quintin Gilpatrick, Timothy Ferguson, and Arthur Ferguson; mother in law, Shirley Groom; close friend and breakfast buddy, Tom “Bullwinkle” Carrier; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Karla Ferguson in 2019; and a sister, Patricia Stansfield.

The family will be present to receive friends from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South Street Trumansburg. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 1:00pm at the funeral home.
