James A. Housworth

James Arthur Housworth of Ithaca passed away at Robert Packer Hospital on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at the age of 77.

Jim was born in May 24, 1948 in Ithaca, a son of the late William and Gene (Watrous) Housworth. He graduated from Charles O. Dickerson High School in 1966 and worked for many years as a tool and die engineer for a majority of his career at NCR in Ithaca. Jim was an avid deer hunter and was extremely handy, having an innate ability to build anything.

Jim is survived by his two sons, Jason Housworth and Patrick (Alisha) Housworth; granddaughters, Leigha Housworth and Georgia Streets Housworth; siblings, Jerry (Eleanor) Housworth, Joan (John) Manheim, and Nancy (Mike) Rundle; brothers in law David (Peggy) Poyer and Ken Poyer; and sister in law, Nancy Housworth. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon; sisters, Bonnie (Bill) White and Connie Housworth; brother, Bill Housworth; and sisters in law Linda (Ed) Fetherbay and Cathie Poyer.

A burial will be held this Spring for family and close friends. A Celebration of his Life will be held Sunday, May 24, 2026.
