James W. Ike

James W. Ike of Interlaken passed away at home on Friday, January 17, 2025 at the age of 79.

James was born in Ithaca on January 20, 1945, a son of the late James and Jane (Buck) Ike. He worked a variety of jobs over the years including truck driving and working at Willard Psychiatric Center as a mechanic. Following his retirement James raised a variety of mini animals at his home including horses, goats, sheep, and donkeys. He was a lifetime member of the South Seneca Sportsmen’s Club.

His passion in life was restoring old tractors and most recently completed 2 different International and an 8N Ford tractor restoration.

James is survived by five children, Susan Snyder, Donald (Cheryl) Ike, Melissa(Alan) Ike, Amy (Scott) Denmark, and Nancy (Chris) Ike; seven grandchildren, Christopher Snyder, Natalie Tomberelli, Nicholas Ike, Jessica Ike, Curt Updike, Nathan Williamson, and Nicole Ike; 13 great grandchildren; sister, Nancy (Robert) Matthews; and his beloved dog, Buddy. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Ike in 2021; and a brother, John Ike.

A Celebration of Life will be held by family in the Spring.
