Jonathon “Jon” Riley of Enfield, New York, passed away at home unexpectedly on January 2, 2026, at the age of 36 from a pulmonary embolism.
Jon was born on October 25, 1989, in Cambridge, Maryland. From a young age, it was clear he had a rare mix of intelligence, creativity, and heart. Music was where he truly came alive—whether he was beat boxing, jamming out, or just sharing sounds he loved. He also loved the stars, long conversations, and being exactly where his people were.
Jon had an easy warmth about him. He cared deeply about everyone he crossed paths with and had a way of making people feel seen, welcome, and lighter just by being around him. He would give the shirt off his back without hesitation and had a natural gift for bringing a smile to someone’s face—often when they needed it most. His humor was quick, genuine, and never forced, and his presence made ordinary moments better.
He is survived by his mother, Brenda (Worrell) Riley; his sister, Julie (Brandon) McGee; his nephew, Brantley McGee; his godparents, Jacquie and Sam Wright; his Aunt Diane and Uncle Greg Kampf; and close friends Teddy MacCarrick, Andrew Nobles, Brooks Hendrix, Karson McGill along with many other friends and family who loved him deeply.
Jon was predeceased by his father, Bill (Darius) William Riley Jr.; grandmother’s Mary Worrell and Katherine Wilson; and cousin Jason Boulay.
In true Jon fashion, he would want everyone to take care of one another, keep the music playing, and keep it safe.
