Seymour L. Roarke Jr. of Interlaken passed away on August 28, 2026, at the age of 73.
Born on May 13, 1953, Seymour was a son of the late Seymour and Thelma (Bergenstock) Roarke Sr. For more than 20 years, Seymour worked at Millspaugh Brothers in Trumansburg, where he specialized in the paint department. Over time, he became known not only for that expertise, but also for helping with a little bit of everything. His strong work ethic was a defining part of who he was, and he was someone who was always working, always ready to lend a hand, and was well liked by everyone who knew him. He built his life around steady effort, practical skill, and a willingness to help wherever he was needed.
Outside of work, Seymour enjoyed hiking in the Adirondacks and took pleasure in woodworking, lawn mowers, and trains. These interests reflected his appreciation for both the outdoors and the satisfaction of working with his hands.
Seymour is survived by his wife, Pearl Roarke; children, Carl Roarke and Thelma (David) Johnson; granddaughter, Samantha (Roger Craw) Johnson; great grandson, Broady; brother in law, Paul (Sue) Scott; sister in law, Sandy (Bob) Malkovsky; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Dora Bergenstock; brother in law, Bob Scott; sister in law, Beverly (Bob) Lethbridge; and uncle, Claire Bergenstock.
A Celebration of his Life will be held at the Interlaken Sportman's Club, 8561 Tunison Road on Saturday, September 5th from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.
