Sylvia M.  Freese

Sylvia M. Freese of Interlaken passed away at Cayuga Ridge on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at the age of 84.

Sylvia was born in Ithaca on June 2, 1932, a daughter of the late Frank and Lena (Carpenter) Hall. She assisted her husband, Percy with the operation of Freese’s Hobby Shop for many years and was a member of the Interlaken Fire Department Auxiliary and volunteered at Cayuga Medical Center.

Sylvia is survived by two children, Larry (Felicity) Freese and Linda Freese; step daughter, Judy Vann; three grandchildren, Tonya Westerberg, Jeanette Allen, and Breanden Freese; three great grandchildren, Sylvia Morgan, Camden Andrews, and Breanden Freese Jr.; sister in law, Jennie Hall; and cousins, Will and Steve Hall. In addition to her parents, Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband Percy Freese in 1996; two brothers, George and Sam Hall; and sister, Jennie Griffin.

The family will be present to receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00pm on Monday, January 9, 2017 at the Ovid Federated Church, 7137 Main Street, Ovid. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 2:00pm at the church.
