Wayne G. Davis

Wayne G. Davis of Newfield passed away on March 18, 2026, at Arnot Ogden Hospital at the age of 71.

Born on October 6, 1954, in Ithaca, Wayne was a son of the late Harvey and Lillian (Cooke) Davis. After a well deserved retirement from Hi-Speed Checkweigher, Wayne pursued his other creative endeavors. His puppets, wire trees and carpentry projects delighted many. His deep love of nature supported his avid bicycling and earlier ABATE membership. Wayne had a special fondness for his cats, which brought him great joy.

Wayne is survived by his children, Kira Elmore and Adam Davis; grandchildren Mason and Adrian Elmore; sisters Marlene Hauptfleisch and Linda Enders; as well as a circle of many close lifelong friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Delores “Dolly” King.

A Memorial Service will be held on March 28, 2026 at 2:00pm at Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Trumansburg. A celebration of life with friends and family will be held at a later date.
