David Nichols

David Nichols, age 86, of 211 Ward Heights South, died suddenly at his home on Friday, August 12, 2022.

David was born in Bradford County,Pennsylvania on January 19, 1936, a son of the late Claude and Marguerite (nee Decker) Nichols.  He left school early to begin a lifelong career of farm work.  He worked at various farms throughout New York and Florida, along with a brief time at Rynones cabinet factory in Waverly.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Hamilton Nichols of Newfield;  his sons, Jamey of Interlaken and Randy of Ithaca; his grandson, Daniel Nichols; stepchildren, John Russell of Newfield, Mary Ellen Russell of Montour Falls, Lisa Marie Nichols of Waverly and Carlton Hockenberry of Slaterville and a sister, Mary Walmsley of Sayre; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. 

A graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Newfield on Wednesday August 24, 2022 at 3:00pm officiated by family friend, Paul Winkelman.
