Dixie Wager Obituary

Dixie Lee Wager of Trumansburg passed away at Rochester General Hospital on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at the age of 70.

Dixie was born in Ithaca on September 12, 1950, a daughter to the late Eldred and Madelyn (Smallen) Covert. She was a graduate of Trumansburg High School in 1968, and on September 21, 1968 married Gene R. Wager. Dixie lovingly operated Wager Family Home Care for 42 years.

Dixie is survived by her husband of 52 years, Gene Wager; four daughters, Wendy Wager, Patty (Ed) Johnson, Karrie Capers, and Marcie Wager; 13 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Clara Covert and Marilyn Eaton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a grandson; and a sister, Jane King.

In keeping with Dixie’s wishes there will be no services.
