Francis Adrian Sabo

Francis Adrian Sabo passed away suddenly in the Capital Regional Medical Center in Tallahassee, Florida on July 22, 2021. 

Francis is the son of Frank Sabo and Edee Stewart-Benedict, born on March 30, 1954.  Francis leaves his long time best friend, Kirsten Vanderlinde; siblings, Tracy, Gregory Szabo, Evan Eisenberg and Christopher Vulpi; several nieces and nephews; step-father Ken Benedict; as well as many friends and relatives.  Francis was predeceased by his father, Frank Sabo; his mother, Edee Stewart-Benedict; and his brother Christian Sabo.   

Francis had great talent as an artist and a prolific creator of many paintings and sketches. Besides art, he had many interests and his thoughts frequently were ahead of his time.  He was a part of a major NYC project: the Pan Am rooftop sphere project where he collaborated with Simon Unger and Lazlo Kiss.  It never got built, but the work appeared in the Architectural Digest. 

Francis had a great sense of humor and used it to entertain and cheer up many,   Francis was known for his wit and gentle encouragement and insight into others’ problems which he was sometimes able to ease.  Many times people didn’t want to hear what he had to say, but often, his advice was eerily on track.  He delved into many of his interests.  He was inspired by music of the 50’s and 60’s, and missed John Lennon most of all. 

He was on a quest to let the world discover his artwork and musical talents, but was waylaid by an unfortunate accident near Tallahassee.  Now he can rest in peace!  We thank God and Jesus for the time we had with him and lament that more may never know him. 

A Memorial for Francis Sabo and Peter Vanderlinde, who also passed this year, is scheduled to be at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1219 Trumansburg Road at 3:00pm on Saturday, October 9, 2021.  All friends and relatives are invited.
