Lois P. (Parker) Ditmars

Lois P. Ditmars, age 89, passed away peacefully at her home on West Seneca Road on Sunday, November 14, 2021. 

Lois was born in Perry City on March 6, 1932, the only daughter of Stewart and Ruth (Beckley) Parker. She was a graduate of Trumansburg Central School Class of 1949, and lived in Ithaca from the 1950’s through the late 70’s. She worked as a bank teller at Tompkins Trust Company and then worked in the operations department of Citizens Savings Bank, from which she retired in the early 1990’s. 

Lois was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Trumansburg.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Pete; her children: Karen (Michael) Clement of Canandaigua, Kathy (Steve) Katsarakes of Chalfont, PA, Lynne (Rodney) Porter of Trumansburg and Laura Tenebruso of Chili; her step children, Christine (Kurt) Wimburg, Daniel (Mary) Ditmars, Margarita (Jeff Shampnois) Ditmars, Amy (Chuck) Love, Pete (Wendy) Ditmars and a large extended family of cousins. She had 18 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren who were her pride and joy. Lois was preceded in death by her brothers, William and Donald Parker, and her son in law, Michael Tenebruso. 

The family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church of Trumansburg, 4443 East Seneca Road, from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Saturday, November 20, 2021. A memorial service at the church will then follow at 1:00pm. Please note, the family has requested that everyone in attendance please wear a mask regardless of vaccination status. Burial will be held privately at Grove Cemetery at a later date.
