Rita M. (Weeks) Brown

Rita M. Brown, formerly of Trumansburg passed away in Florida on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at the age of 76.

She was born in Ithaca on July 7, 1945, the youngest child to the late John and Ruth (Perry) Weeks. Rita enjoyed all types of crafts and especially enjoyed sewing, quilting, embroidery, and scrapbooking. Above all, Rita always put her family first and loved all of them unconditionally. Her kind heart and warm and welcoming spirit will be missed.

Rita is survived by her husband Bob Brown; children, Tammy (Barth) Gardner, James Rohan Jr., Kathleen (David) Wood, and Chad Brown; six grandchildren, Darrin (Sarah) Gardner, Austin Rohan-Davenport, Elizabeth Rohan-Davenport, Corey Wood, and Tyler Wood; three great grandchildren, Claire and Bodhi Gardner, and Jade Rohan; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by a grandson, Sean Rohan; and her siblings, George Weeks, Cecile Bonsall, Carol Kastenhuber, and Betty Taylor.

The family will be present to receive friends from Noon to 1:00pm on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Trumansburg. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 1:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Frear Memorial Park in the Spring.
