Robert I. Sayman

Robert I. Sayman, age 98, of Interlaken/Hector, NY passed away at home on Tuesday, November 22, 2022.

He was born on August 10, 1924 in Overton, PA the son of the late of Willis and Irene (nee Wyghtman) Sayman.

Bob proudly served his country from 1945-1947 in the US Army, where he received a commendation for his skill and initiative building housing for soldiers in Fort Ord, CA. Bob worked for BorgWarner for 35 years and retired as a Production Superintendent. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a member of the American Legion.

Bob is survived by his niece, Gerri Benedict; great nieces and nephews, Julie Bauman, Jaime (Jason) Bauman, Rob and Chris Benedict; and great-great nieces and nephews, Ciera Babcock, Bryce, Jake and Ellie Benedict. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, three brothers and his wife, Irma Sayman in 2006.

Committal prayers with Military Honors will be held on Thursday December 1, 2022 at 2:00pm at Frear Memorial Park, Ithaca NY. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions in Bob’s memory be made to Carefirst Hospice, 3805 Meads Creek Road, Painted Post, NY 14870
