Solena M. "Sally" (Owens) Bowers

Solena M. “Sally” Bowers, age 87, of Ithaca passed away peacefully on December 14, 2021, the 19th anniversary of her beloved husband’s death.

Sally was born in Cullman County, Alabama on October 2, 1934, a daughter of the late Milton Freeman Owens and Bessie Mae Russell. She was a strong woman who always made the time and could do it all. A multitasker who ran the roost. (Because she said so!) Sally was full of wise words and wisdom. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Sally is survived by four children, Dennis Bowers, Charles Bowers, Cinda Bowers, and Jolene Kessler; grandchildren, Krista, Jason, Joshua, Nathanial, Bradley, Cassie, Russell, Justin, and Magdalen Mae; many great grandchildren; brother, Quillan (Penny) Owens; sisters, Sonia (Sam) Morris and Gladys Ross; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Sally was preceded in death by her husband, C. Harold Bowers; and daughter, Demaris “DeeDee” Bowers.

In keeping with Sally’s wishes there will be no public services. Instead please take a moment of silence and remember the time you spent with Sally and remember her spirit will live and breathe within all who were lucky enough to have known her.
